Political Ideology Test
Take the most comprehensive and neutral political ideology test. Discover your position on the economic and social axes (political compass).
What is the Political Compass?
The Political Ideology Test was rigorously designed to map your positions on two vital axes of political thought: the Economic Axis and the Social Axis. Unlike simplistic "Left vs. Right" views, real-world politics is complex, multifaceted, and rarely fits onto just one straight line.
How Does the Test Work?
Based on dozens of modern sociology and political science studies, we condensed philosophical currents into 20 sharp questions. By answering these questions with varying degrees of agreement, we measure your inclination toward state intervention versus the free market (Economic Axis) and your view on authority and tradition versus individual freedom and civil deregulation (Social Axis).
Why Should I Take This Test?
- Self-Knowledge: Understanding your true philosophical alignments often reveals surprises about how you view macroeconomics, civil laws, and constitutional rights.
- Critical Debate: Having an exact mapping of your view makes your arguments much more solid and well-founded.
- Clear Visualization: You will have immediate access to an interactive two-dimensional chart specifically marking your level and degree on a clear map (compass).
The answers you provide are not judged; the algorithms simply use the inclinations to plot the vectors. In the end, the tool delivers your position in one of five main quadrants: Center, Authoritarian Left, Libertarian Left, Authoritarian Right, and Libertarian Right.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this test favor any political side?
No. We tried to design the questions and quadrants as neutrally as possible.
Does it tell me exactly who I am?
It's an approximation based on patterns. Politics is full of nuances and variations.
What is the Left and Right political spectrum?
Traditionally, the Right focuses on free-market efficiency, individual capital, and moral order, while the Left focuses on socioeconomic equality, state intervention for balance, and collective rights.
How does the Political Compass work?
Unlike a simple straight line (Left-Right), the compass uses two axes. The Economic Axis goes from Free Market to State Control, and the Social Axis goes from Authoritarianism to Libertarianism (civil liberty).
Is the political ideology test safe and anonymous?
Completely. It processes everything locally on your device. Your answers are not saved, sent, or tracked by any server.
Can I share my political spectrum result?
Yes! Upon finishing, you'll receive a personal Political Archetype Badge (e.g., Balanced Pragmatist) that you can easily share on Twitter, WhatsApp, or copy the link for friends.
